Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located at Ba Dinh Square in the north west of the Hanoi. The building is dedicated to house Ho Chi Minh’s preserved body and a place where visitors can express their admiration and gratitude towards the national hero while.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which was made of marble and granite, features a three-stored structure. In the second store places the famous President’s body, lying as if he were sleeping in the simple clothes worn when he was alive.

Outside, visitors can see his popular quote “Khong co gi quy hon doc lap tu do” (translated as “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom”) on the top face of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

In front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the 79 cycad trees, symbolizing Uncle Ho’s 79 springs of life. The two bamboo ranges on the two sides whistle in the wind to commemorate the President!
President Ho Chi Minh, the capital of Vietnam, was recognized by UNESCO as the one who “devoted his whole life to the national liberation of the Vietnamese people…”.

You can visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is free of charge but involves a set of strictly enforced regulations. No short skirts or tank tops are allowed and there is high level of security check upon arrival.
Day packs can be put in a safe deposit before you enter but make sure you do not carry many valuable items with you. Taking photos, talking or finger-pointing are strictly prohibited inside the mausoleums.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is open 5 days a week, on the morning of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The hot season (from month 1-4 to 31-10): From 7:30 to 10:30,

Cold season (from month1-11 to 31-3 years):  From 8:00 to 11:00;

Holidays, Saturdays, Sundays open 30 more minutes. Another few important things to note are that it is closed between September and December apparently for restoration work.
